Telework and Remote Work as Reasonable Accommodation
With organizations mandating employees to return to the physical office space, you can expect more reasonable accommodation requests for telework or remote work than ever before. If someone has successfully teleworked in the past and is a qualified individual with a disability, must you grant them telework as accommodation?
This course will detail the required process for organizations to be compliant when dealing with reasonable accommodation requests, specifically focused on requests for telework and remote work. Effective alternative accommodations will also be discussed. Plus, we’ll tackle “suspicious” medical documentation, and highlight who gets to choose the accommodation when multiple accommodations might be effective.

Event FAQs
Is there any flexibility with course durations for Agency Direct training?
Yes. Many agencies have requested that full-day courses be taught over two half-days to ensure maximum engagement, especially when the course is being taught virtually. Any course can be spread out over multiple days or condensed into shorter sessions. Shorter classes can often be combined to build longer courses that cover more topics. We’ll be happy to discuss the options that are most convenient to you.
In what format is this class held?
The class may be held onsite at an agency location or as a live virtual event. Virtual events are generally held using your agency’s platform (Zoom, WebEx, Teams, etc.). In certain situations where FELTG hosts, the event will be held on Zoom or Teams.
Can I earn CLE credits for this class?
CLE applications are the responsibility of each attendee; FELTG does not apply for the credits on behalf of attendees. If you are seeking CLE credit, you may use the materials provided by FELTG in submission to your state bar. You may also request a certificate of completion which will contain the number of training hours attended.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Training Courses
Can I attend Virtual Training from my government computer?
FELTG uses Zoom to broadcast our Virtual Training Institute events. Many government computers and systems allow Zoom access. If for some reason your firewall will not allow access, you’re welcome to use your personal email address to register, and to attend the sessions from your personal device.
Can I share my access link with co-workers?
No. Registration for each event is per individual, and access links may not be shared. Each link may only be used by one person.
Can I register a teleworker?
Each event is individual registration, so the cost is the same whether the person is teleworking or in an agency facility.
How do I receive a group rate discount?
Group rates are available for agencies registering 10 or more individuals. Group discounts end the same day as early bird registration. Please see the event description for exact details.
