Whether you work for a Federal agency subject to President Trump’s inauguration day Return to In-Person Work Memorandum, or you work for a state or local government or private sector company who has ordered employees back to work onsite, one thing is sure: you have received a number of exemption requests from individuals who are requesting telework or remote work as a reasonable accommodation for a medical condition. Plus, with the July 16, 2025, OPM memo on the parameters for providing telework and remote work as a religious accommodation, it’s a topic on a lot of people’s minds.
So, what are the lawful exemptions to the in-person work requirement? How do you determine if telework or remote work is an appropriate reasonable accommodation? What should you do if there is another accommodation that would also be effective? This training will answer all of those questions and more.
