EEO Counselor and Investigator Refresher Training

As an EEO counselor or investigator, you are required by the EEOC to complete an 8-hour annual refresher course.  Don’t take training just to check the box. Use this opportunity to refine your counseling skills and improve your EEO knowledge.

In FELTG’s EEO refresher training, experienced instructors will cover the content required by the EEOC and share with you the most critical recent case law, regulations, and other legal developments. Plus, our instructors can focus the training on the topics most relevant to your agency’s current EEO challenges.

Topics can be selected from a number of EEO issues including the EEO complaint process and timeliness issues; the protected categories; alternative dispute resolution; identifying the various theories of discrimination; intentional discrimination cases; the latest trends in hostile work environment harassment; reasonable accommodation for disability, pregnancy, and religion; selection and promotion cases; EEO reprisal; overlapping forms of discrimination; medical documentation and medical records confidentiality; interviewing techniques; dealing with difficult witnesses, and much more.

We will share guidance to help you sharpen your practical skills and provide the latest updates from the EEOC and the courts.

Event FAQs

Is there any flexibility with course durations for Agency Direct training? 

Yes. Many agencies have requested that full-day courses be taught over two half-days to ensure maximum engagement, especially when the course is being taught virtually. Any course can be spread out over multiple days or condensed into shorter sessions. And shorter classes can often be combined to build longer courses covering more topics. We’ll be happy to discuss the options that are most convenient to you.

In what format is this class held?

The class may be held onsite at an agency location, or as a live virtual event. Virtual events are generally held using your agency’s platform (Zoom, WebEx, Teams, etc.). In certain situations where FELTG hosts, the event will be held on Zoom or Teams.

Can I earn CLE credits for this class?

CLE applications are the responsibility of each attendee; FELTG does not apply for the credits on behalf of attendees. If you are seeking CLE credit, you may use the materials provided by FELTG in submission to your state bar. You may also request a certificate of completion which will contain the number of training hours attended.
